Hendersyde Farm Self Catering Cottages

The three self catering cottages at Hendersyde,
West, Southsyde and East Cottage, stand in a peaceful spot, at the end of their own lane in the middle of the farm.

The views stretch for miles westerly to the Eildon Hills by Melrose, north to the foothills of the Lammermuirs and south over the Tweed Valley to the Cheviot Hills in the Northumberland National Park!

The simple traditional layout means each cottage has a back porch leading into the kitchen. The bathroom, sitting room and garden door lead off the hall.

Upstairs the spacious twin and double bed room still have their original, though now redundant, fireplaces!

Out-side is a private, enclosed, south-facing garden, where you can relax in peace! With just the sounds and songs of the Border countryside for company!

A STRICT NO SMOKING POLICY

• Oil-fired central heating through-out
• Coal, kindling and £15 of oil and electricity are included. I read the meters at the beginning and end of your stay. Recent price rises mean there is some times extra to pay outside the summer months. But you only pay for the amount you use, not an inflated cover-all price!
• Colour TV, Free-view, CD/DVD player
• Broadband internet access Wi-Fi and Plug-in.
  
• A radio upstairs and down
• Masses of local information, maps, books magazines and board games.
• A very well equipped kitchen with much more than just the basics!
• Electric cooker and microwave
• Washing machine, drying line and use of a tumble drier
• Fridge and freezer
• Kitchen roll and loo roll
• Salt, pepper, herbs and spices
• Washing and cleaning liquids
• Cling film and baking foil
• A shower over the bath
• Freshly ironed linen, towels, tea-towels and a bath mat are always provided, all blown dry on Border breezes!
• Feather pillows and duvets. We can provide sheets and blankets, if you would prefer, just let me know!
• Hair dryer.
• High chair, cot and bedding can be provided @ £15.00
• Garden furniture and a barbeque
• An out-house for storage of bikes, golf clubs or fishing tackle, all very popular in the Borders!
• 2 kennels for outdoor dogs
• Parking for two cars
• Re-cycling facilities - care of the environment is very important to us!

There is a grass area at the end of the lane beside the cottages. We have fishing nets for small expeditions to the Eden, perhaps combined with a picnic! The table-tennis table is under cover along at the farm.

You can be confident that the cottages are clean and very comfortably furnished. I hope we have thought of everything, so you will feel very much at home. If you do need anything, we live at the other end of the cottage lane and are always happy to help.
