Our week's stay at Millsyde Cottage was the best we have ever had, and we have stayed in dozens of cottages throughout Scotland over the last fifteen years or so. Large, airy, comfortable, clean, exceedingly well-equipped and appointed, we couldn't have wished for better. Sue was a wonderful host, for whom nothing was too much trouble to make our stay memorable. The welcome gifts were to die for! We will be booking again shortly for two separate weeks for next year…..
I cannot praise Millsyde highly enough. We entertained our friends there, and the quality of the accommodation and the thought and care that went in to making this a real 'home from home' was quite outstanding. I am only concerned that when word gets out and everyone books and rebooks - we may struggle for regular slots! A big thank you to Sue, who couldn't have been more helpful.
… wonderfully equipped kitchen, huge stack of games for a rainy day. I am incredibly fussy about beds and pillows and Sue has got it right as they were perfect and so comfortable. We certainly look forward to returning in the future. A true home from home.
You have to see Millsyde to believe it. The online photographs show you a high standard, but what they don't capture is how beautiful each of the rooms are......the attention to detail ...... and the thought put in by the owner, so your every whim is satisfied.
Millsyde still has the wow factor, it is beautifully decorated and so well equipped. It really does have everything you could need and the most comfortable beds. We made the most of all the extras including the eggs that had been left (including chocolate eggs) and the cards and board games. Having level access and all accommodation on one level meant Millsyde has been perfect for my partner in his wheelchair. There was plenty of room to get round the house, in the bedrooms and en-suite which makes life so nice and easy.
We can’t wait to return and have recommended it to friends, family and work colleagues. Go! You won’t be disappointed!!
Luxurious and comfortable in the extreme, Millsyde is set amidst the peace and tranquillity of the fantastic Scottish countryside, yet only a good five minutes from a major supermarket and a delightful small town. We have spent many years holidaying in the best Scottish Cottages have had to offer, but nowhere has ever come close to Millsyde. We will definitely be back.
Millsyde is a gorgeous, comfortable place to stay with loads of space, everything you can need and great for a family group! The welcome we received form Sue both personal and treat-wise started the week off perfectly. The wealth of nature on the farm and in the surrounding area were really enjoyable on our daily walks!
This house is exceptional - extremely spacious, beautifully furnished, and absolutely fully equipped. The welcome from the Becks is also first rate. The farm setting is lovely and there is also plenty to do nearby. I would recommend Millsyde without hesitation

This is a beautifully appointed and situated cottage run by the friendliest and most helpful couple. The fact that the cottage is in such a delightful area with easy access to the Borders Northumberland etc. makes it very difficult to leave this wonderfully comfortable property. There is such a multitude of great walks, places of historical and natural interest
Another visit, this time with my cousin from NZ. Another lovely welcome from Sue and a wonderful relaxing time. My cousin loved the cottage and the situation as much as us, especially the plethora of butterflies and swallows and hearing an owl. The dogs had a ball as usual. We'll be back in May for Floors Horse Trials. Can't wait.
As always, Sue has the cottage warm and cosy when we arrive late in the evening and we enjoy her home baked rock buns and fresh eggs the next morning. Cottages are always immaculate and we found they had even been updated kitchen & bathroom suites, an addition to already exemplary features. The surroundings are breath-taking and you are guaranteed a peaceful and relaxed stay. The only downside is that you have to leave to come home, but will always be back as I wouldn't stay anywhere else whilst visiting this part of Scotland.
We have been coming to Hendersyde for the last 5 yrs. & are as happy as clams there. This time was our first autumn break, yet again the weather was great and we spent lots of time outdoors. The 4 children (we had 2 cottages) could roam about freely and enjoyed their liberty immensely. The cottages were as cozy as ever and of course we were all well looked after by Sue and her family. There are lots of things to do in the Borders - cultural or hikes/walks and places to discover. We've already booked our next trip - until then pictures and memories will help us during our more prosaic city lives :-)

We spent a month in the Borders researching family history. Hendersyde cottages were by far the best equipped and most comfortable self-catering accommodation we have used in several trips to Scotland from Australia. We would highly recommend this location and cottages to anyone visiting the area. Beautifully decorated and well-equipped cottage with magnificent views in a perfect environment
We had a glorious few days at this very well equipped and charming cottage next to the farm. We had the added bonus of seeing all the lambs. I had not been to Kelso before and it is a lovely town with lots of nice restaurants, interesting shops and the Abbey
We have just spent a week at Hendersyde, staying in the Southsyde with our children (4 and 6) and we had a great time. Sue is very welcoming, and the cottage very comfortable, with everything you could possibly want provided. It's a lovely, peaceful location on the farm, and there are some great day trips too - we went to Berwick-upon-Tweed, Floors Castle, Harestanes, as well as going on a beastie hunt on the river Tweed on the doorstep. Thanks Sue!
It was atmospheric staying at Southsyde; really lovely autumnal colours, sights and sounds. We saw deer, badger, a hare and so many different kinds of birds. Then inside there was the coal fire to be lit after wonderful days spent exploring the likes of Melrose, Berwick and Peebles. The bed was gorgeously comfortable and waking up to the surrounding fields was a joy. We would heartily recommend Hendersyde Farm cottages to you, whatever the time of year. We were not ready to leave and are indeed missing the whole experience still.

Over the last twenty years we have been frequent visitors to Sue's cottages in their beautiful location. We never fail to be impressed by her warm welcome, the homeliness & high standards of the cottages. On arrival we always enjoy Sue's home-baked rock cakes and the delicious farm eggs. We would highly recommend these cottages to anyone wishing to explore the beautiful Borders countryside.
Visited some beautiful gardens, Kailzie & Mellerstain, the azaleas & rhodies were gorgeous. Holy Island was well worth a visit. So much to see and do, not enough time – will be back to discover more!
A haven of peace and quiet. Comfortable and welcoming, we have decided the Borders are one of our favourite places to visit. Bed is so comfortable as well – very rare!
I am so sad to leave this lovely place. I had no idea how beautiful the Scottish Borders are & how much there is to do. The cottage is delightful, perfectly situated with views that are ever changing and beautiful. I will certainly recommend East Cottage and remember it with pleasure
So peaceful and we loved the views from every window. Plenty of walks for the dogs. The eggs, Rock Buns were very well received! We will recommend the cottage to our friends and family.
We have had a wonderful relaxing, restful, stay in this cosiest of cottages.
