Outside

At the far end of the cottage lane catching the morning sun, East Cottage garden wraps round the front & side of the cottage.

There’s a tasty selection of fruit, if you’re here in season!

This is a beautifully appointed and situated cottage run by the friendliest and most helpful couple. The fact that the cottage is in such a delightful area with easy access to the Borders Northumberland etc. makes it very difficult to leave this wonderfully comfortable property. There is such a multitude of great walks, places of historical and natural interest

Another visit, this time with my cousin from NZ. Another lovely welcome from Sue and a wonderful relaxing time. My cousin loved the cottage and the situation as much as us, especially the plethora of butterflies and swallows and hearing an owl. The dogs had a ball as usual. We’ll be back in May for Floors Horse Trials. Can’t wait.

As always, Sue has the cottage warm and cosy when we arrive late in the evening and we enjoy her home baked rock buns and fresh eggs the next morning. Cottages are always immaculate and we found they had even been updated kitchen & bathroom suites, an addition to already exemplary features. The surroundings are breath-taking and you are guaranteed a peaceful and relaxed stay. The only downside is that you have to leave to come home, but will always be back as I wouldn’t stay anywhere else whilst visiting this part of Scotland.

We have been coming to Hendersyde for the last 5 yrs. & are as happy as clams there. This time was our first autumn break, yet again the weather was great and we spent lots of time outdoors. The 4 children (we had 2 cottages) could roam about freely and enjoyed their liberty immensely. The cottages were as cozy as ever and of course we were all well looked after by Sue and her family. There are lots of things to do in the Borders – cultural or hikes/walks and places to discover. We’ve already booked our next trip – until then pictures and memories will help us during our more prosaic city lives 🙂

I am so sad to leave this lovely place. I had no idea how beautiful the Scottish Borders are & how much there is to do. The cottage is delightful, perfectly situated with views that are ever changing and beautiful. I will certainly recommend East Cottage and remember it with pleasure
